COMMUNITY MEETING ANNOUNCMENT - PARK GRANT MASTER PLAN AND APPLICATION
Jun 22, 2021On Thursday, June 17th, a Public Hearing/ community meeting was held in the public area near the community pool. We appreciate those who attended the presentation on such a hot day. Two items were discussed related to development of new park facilities through a grant.
Present were folks from Grant Development Services, LJA Engineering and Essex Management to discuss ideas for the park facilities. We presented 2 maps with possible layouts of the proposed recreation items. The selected recreation items were based on your surveys. The focus it to create recreation to be enjoyed by the members of the Bear Creek neighborhood.
We received excellent feedback from the attendees and the comments made will be utilized in the design of the park grant application. For example, several of you suggested to construct a half court basketball court rather than a full size court. Comments from residents pointed out that the half court was more appropriate to the community’s needs. This specific kind of feedback in very welcome and valuable to us. We can respond to changing community needs and will continue to incorporate your valuable feedback into the planning document.

The purpose of the meeting is to review the status of the Master Plan for Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, and to discuss how the public comments received will shape the application for recreation grant funding. The BCHOA encourages the public to express their views regarding the preliminary layouts that were shown at the Public Hearing on June 17.
